We recently had the opportunity to make a photographic copy of a very special piece of local history…
Our local library was gifted an old, damaged canvas map of our region, which dated back to 1856. Then known as the Township of Esquesing, it shows what is now the Town of Halton Hills and the family names who owned each parcel of land.
When we received it, it had been painstakingly restored to a solid piece. We made a high resolution digital photo of it for research purposes; local historians will be able to access the information contained within the map from this file, while the piece will be framed!
