Turning One is so much Fun!

Sometimes when we have photography sessions with children shyness becomes a factor.  Fortunately both Jeff and I are photographers and there is usually one of us that becomes the "chosen one" with kids, and it's usually me...*cough*.  Actually it's about 50/50, but I like to tell myself I am more likeable than Jeff! When Parker came into our studio for his one year session he definitely played shy, but in the end we both won him over- he liked me the most, and we captured some really amazing shots of him. This is the first one year old session in a while where we didn't do a cake smash and had some fun with balloons instead.  We had such a great time and all of us ended up in giggles- which is always my favourite!

Hailey's Perfect Princess Party!

Want to know the best way to make your princess feel like an actual princess on her 5th birthday? Do what Hailey’s Mom did and invite 3 of your princess’ best pals, get them all dolled up as their favourite princess, take them to get their nails done, and then off to a photographer to have their own time to shine in the spotlight!  We had so much fun with Belle, Snow White, The Ice Queen, and Queen Elsa! I had an absolute blast photographing these giggly girls and you can see just how much fun they had in the photos. I really loved using our new bedhead background for this and it gives these princess’ the regal look they deserve! Not only were we able to take photos during Hailey’s party, but with some teamwork each girl got to go home with her very own photo, you can’t get much more special than that! This is one of the best parties we have been a part of and I am taking notes…. my daughter’s 6th birthday is coming up…. I guess I better get on that! First, I need to vacuum more sparkles that have managed to travel all over the studio, wish me luck!

2017 Christmas Mini Sessions in all their glory!

The Christmas rush is settling down and it has been one fantastic whirlwind! We saw the familiar faces of our amazing clients and happily met so many wonderful new families!

Although I am not much of a cold weather lover (I am wearing 4 layers as I write this) I absolutely love Christmas.  It’s the one holiday I really get into. I love to decorate for the season and I get really into Christmas movies.  The Grinch, Elf and  A Christmas Carol are on constant rotation with the kids and Love Actually and The Holiday are my guilty pleasures in the evenings! A hot beverage, great book or movie, fuzzy warm blanket and a roaring fire is the epitome of bliss for me this time of year. It is also Christmas Card time! We appreciate that others put as much care and effort into their greeting cards as we do and feel honoured that they use us to capture those moments in time! I can’t wait to see what some of our clients do with our images and the amazing cards they will create! Every year we do something a little different with our Christmas cards, we try to make them humorous and light-hearted.  I have just completed this years and come back next week to see my masterpiece.  In the meantime check out some of our previous cards here.
